3rd Annual Garden Tour Announced

The Master Gardeners of the Ozarks have announced the date for their 3rd Annual Garden Tour: Saturday, June 4th, 2011.

"BLOOMS & OUTDOOR ROOMS"
Tour features 9 Gardens, each with its own personality!
Come and join us for a self-driving, leisurely tour with Master Gardeners helping you along the way. This year's Master Gardeners of the Ozarks Garden Tour, "Blooms & Outdoor Rooms" features a Children's Garden designed by a Horticultural Therapist, a vegetable garden, gardens and outdoor rooms designed and landscaped professionally and by avid gardeners.
- Gather ideas and knowledge for your own personal space.
- Learn the use of plants, colors and placement for:
- A Children's Garden
- A Welcome Garden
- A Cottage Garden
- Vegetable Gardening
- Container Gardening
- Hillside Challenges
- Lake Front Focus
- Elegant Garden
- Gracious Outdoor Living
- Use of such items as fire its.
The will be something of interest for everyone!
The tour features a cottage garden, container gardening and other outdoor features in a variety of settings all in the Table Rock Lake area just north and south of the Kimberling City Bridge.
Registration Information
A pre-registration form is provided on this website by clicking the link below ("Purchase Tickets"). The cost to pre-register is $13.00 per person and can be done by mailing in the form with a check or money order or by paying on line using a major credit card.
Once pre-registration and payment have been received (either by mail or on line) the registrant will receive their ticket and map to the gardens either by mail or email. We will suggest a route to take to see all of the gardens, but it will be the individual's choice to follow our route or chart their own.
Maps, Routes, Tickets
The event is being held on Saturday, June 4th from 8 am to 4 pm. Those who have pre-registered and paid for the Tour will have received tickets and maps to the various gardens on the Tour either by mail or email. They can start visiting the gardens anytime after 9 am and determine which order they visit the gardens based on their starting location.
Tour participants who still need to register and pay for the Tour should meet at the Kimberling Area Library at 8 am to pay for the tour and receive their map to the gardens. Those who wish to follow our suggested route should also meet at the Kimberling Area Library at 8 am to start their tour. Refreshments will also be available however, lunch is not provided this year.
Cost and More Information
The cost of the Tour is $13.00 in advance and $15.00 "at the door" - the day of the event - and benefits the charitable endeavors and projects of the Master Gardeners of the Ozarks. Tickets can be purchased on line, by mail or from the Stone County Extension Office in Galena. Further information about the tour and other ticket outlets can be obtained by calling the Extension Office at 417-357-6812. We will update this article as new information becomes available.
