Spring Workshop Attendance is usually at full capacity

The Master Gardeners of the Ozarks will be hosting their sixteenth annual Spring Gardening Workshop designed for homeowners looking for tips to improve their landscapes and gardening skills. The theme of this year's event is "Bright Beginnings".

The workshop will be held with registration, vendor booths and a continental breakfast starting at 8:00 a.m. and the program ending at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the Faith Lutheran Church, located at 221 Malone Street in Branson, Mo.

“This program always features qualified and informative speakers who will discuss topics of interest to gardeners.   This year we are pleased to have KY3 Chief Meteorologist, Ron Hearst, who will present '2019 Gardening Weather Forecast'” said Tim Schnakenberg, regional agronomy specialist, University of Missouri Extension.

“We chose the theme, 'Bright Beginnings' because the table decorations are very bright! And of course, spring signals new growth, new beginnings. We think our speakers and topics this year will help local gardeners benefit greatly,” according to Marie English, master gardener who chairs the program. “We routinely have well over 200 in attendance very year so it's important to register early. Several vendors will be on site and will be set up to offer plants and horticulture-related merchandise to the public.”

In an effort to keep the price of this event affordable, the committee will be emailing speaker handouts to the registrants the week of the event.  Registrants should check their email and print the handouts, if they choose, to have them available for note taking.

A registration fee will be charged to cover the cost of the workshop and lunch. Contact the Stone County University of Missouri Extension Center at (417) 357-6812 for more information and to pre-register. Seating is limited so pre-register soon.
